St. John’s Wort

St. John’s wort added to black tea is, first of all, a delicious drink that can be drunk with honey and with all the sweets that you can afford.

Medicinal properties

St. John’s wort preparations have, first of all, antimicrobial, disinfecting and anti-inflammatory effects. In addition, they have an astringent, antispasmodic and hemostatic effect. They are used to treat ulcers, stool disorders, rheumatism and gout, cystitis, diseases of the cardiovascular system, liver and kidneys, gallbladder, various nervous disorders, as well as as a diuretic and anthelmintic.

Water decoctions and infusions of St. John’s wort are effective in gastritis, chronic and acute enteritis, as well as non-bacterial colitis. They relieve the symptoms of irritation of the mucous membrane, thereby having an analgesic effect and promote rapid healing. They are also used as an auxiliary agent for hepatitis, flatulence, biliary dyskinesia, cholecystitis, cholelithiasis and intestinal diseases of a bacterial nature, primarily due to the ability of St. John’s wort to inhibit pathogenic microflora.

Infusions and decoctions of St. John’s wort are used as a diuretic for kidney dysfunction, urolithiasis, inflammatory pathologies of the bladder and kidneys, as well as for fluid retention in the body.

Alcoholic tincture of St. John’s wort eliminates bad breath and strengthens gums. It has also shown its effectiveness in chronic purulent otitis media and tonsillitis, stomatitis, sore throat and gingivitis due to its antibacterial properties.

St. John’s wort preparations are used for the treatment of severe burns, acute respiratory tract catarrhs, purulent wounds, abscesses, mastitis and other pathologies of a bacterial nature.

St. John’s wort is not recommended for use in the summer.
