A DREAM CONFESSION from the 4th chapter of THE GOLDEN LIGHT SUTRA.
- Thanks to the loud drumming of the holy “(Sutras) of Golden Light,” may all suffering in the worlds of the Tricosmium subside: The suffering of death, poverty, and evil fates!
- May this sound of the great drum dispel all the ignorance of the world!
Like Munindra the fearless, who conquered fear, may all beings become fearless and get rid of fear!
- May, like Munindra, who knows the whole of samsara and possesses all the sublime virtues, all those who are born acquire the virtues of samadhi – the preliminary stages of Awakening, become oceans of virtues!
- May the voice of Brahma grant this sound of the great drum to all beings, and may they, having achieved the holy Awakening of the Buddha, turn the good wheel of Dharma.
- and they live an incomprehensible multitude of kalpas, preaching the Dharma to help beings!
May the claws be destroyed and the suffering dispelled, may passion, hatred and delusion disappear!
- Beings suffering from a bad fate, whose flesh and bones are engulfed in flames,
Let them hear the beating of the great drum;
May all their sufferings completely subside;
And may they hear the words: “Bow to the Awakened One”!
- Yes (they will see) one hundred past lives of all beings
and they will remember ten billion (their) rebirths!
Let them constantly remember the Munindras and listen to their great speech!
- May this sound of the great drum always (lead beings) to the Buddhas,
and let them renounce all sins, only do good deeds!
- Whatever aspirations and aspirations humans, gods, and all (other) beings have,-
May all these hopes be fulfilled thanks to this sound of the great drum!
- Living beings born in a terrible hell, whose bodies are engulfed in flames, defenseless martyrs, completely lost, may these MOTHERS find peace!
- The cruel suffering of creatures in the worlds of hell, hell, and humans is terrible.
May they all be silenced by this sound of the great drum!
- For those who have no Support, Refuge and protection, may I become the supreme protector, Refuge and Support!
- I ask for the attention of those who are in (all) the worlds of the ten sides (of the world)
The Buddhas are the holiest of the bipeds, possessing a loving, compassionate heart!
- Before (you, the possessors of) the ten powers, I confess all the terrible atrocities I have committed in the past.:
- the sins I committed due to disobedience to my parents, disbelief in Buddhas, and renunciation of virtues;
- in the sins that I committed, feeling pride from wealth, pride from origin and wealth, or pride from youth;
- in the evil that I have committed with bad thoughts, words, offenses and refusal to recognize evil in them;
- in the evil that I committed out of childish frivolity, clouded by ignorance, due to the influence of bad friends, or being confused by flares,
- Indulging in amusements, grieving, being sick, or (drowning) in the vice of greed,
- in the evil that I have committed because of association with ignoble people, because of envy and avarice, being dishonest or poor;
- in the evil that I committed during the troubles that happened – because of longing and loss of wealth;
- in the evil that I have committed because of mental turmoil, desire and anger, fierce hunger or thirst,
- in the evil done because of the need for food and drink, women and clothes, because of various evil whims;
- the accumulated sins of the body, speech, and mind: evil deeds of all three types, I confess to all of them, committed by me in this way.
- I confess all my disrespect shown to the Buddhas, their Teachings and listeners.
- I also confess to all the disrespect shown to the great Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.
- I confess my disrespect for the preachers of the sacred Dharma and my lack of respect for the Dharma.
- I confess to all (cases) of rejection of the sacred Dharma and disrespect for parents, (occurred) due to my constant ignorance.
- I confess to all the darkness that I have ever committed through stupidity, childishness and passion, hatred, delusion and arrogance.
- May I make offerings to the Possessors of the Ten powers in (all) the worlds of the ten directions!
May I rescue the beings of the ten sides from all their suffering!
- May I lead all beings who are not encompassed by thought to the ten steps (holy bodhisattvas)!
May all of them, having passed these ten steps, become Tathagatas!
- Until I can save them all from the ocean of suffering, even if I have countless kalpas, I will work for each of them!
- May I preach to all beings this holy “(Sutra) of Golden Light”, purifying from all karma, teaching about deep,
- purifying through a single (sincere) confession all the terrible crimes committed over thousands of kalpas;
- quickly putting a sure end to karmic defilements.
Thanks to this good confession from the sacred “(Sutra) of Golden Light”
- May they all remain in the ten steps, the ten best sources of precious things, may they shine with the virtues of the Buddha, and may they be freed from the ocean of samsaric existence!
- May they become an ocean, a great stream of Buddhas, a deep ocean of virtues, and (countless) Buddhas with immense virtues, and thus (gain) complete omniscience!
- May the preliminary stages of Awakening – hundreds of thousands of samadhis, encompassed by the thought of dharani, abilities and powers become their sacred ten powers!
- I ask the Buddhas to look at me with the attention of their minds!
I pray you to embrace me, a sinner, with the compassion of your hearts!
- Because of the evil I have done in the past, for hundreds of epochs, (now) I am grieving, unhappy, tormented by bitter fear.
- In fear of the evil I have done, my spirit is constantly depressed: wherever I go, I find no joy anywhere.
- I pray to all the merciful Buddhas, who dispel the fears of all beings, to take care of me, the villain, to save me from the enemy – fear!
- O Tathagata, wash away the impurities of my claws and karma!
I pray the Buddhas to wash me with the water of mercy!
- I confess to all my crimes,
I confess all my sins,
which I have committed in the past and am committing in the present!
- I promise not to commit any crimes in the future, not to conceal any wrongdoing I have committed.
- I confess to all three kinds of (evil) deeds of the body, four of speech, and three of the mind.
- I confess to all ten (kinds of evil) deeds: committed by the body, speech and mind.
- May I forsake the ten unwholesome deeds, commit the ten good deeds, may I remain on the ten steps and become the owner of the higher ten powers!
- I confess to the Buddhas all my evil deeds, fraught with undesirable fruits.
- I rejoice in all the good deeds performed in this Jambudvipa and in other areas of the world.
- Thanks to the good deeds created by my body, speech and mind – thanks to these roots of virtue, may I achieve the highest Awakening!
- Before (the Possessors of) the incomparable ten powers, I confess to each of the terrible evils committed in the vanity of samsaric wanderings because of childish understanding.
- I confess the sins that I have accumulated in the vanity of births of samsaric existence, in worldly vanity, with restless thoughts, through various vain bodily actions.
- Also, in the presence of the incomparable Victors, I confess to each of such sins as stupid, childish actions, excitement with flares, vain meetings with bad friends.,
- worldly vanity, excitement of passion, clouded by hatred and the darkness of delusion, idle vanity, the vanity of (wasting) time and the vanity of creating (worldly) merits.
- I worship golden Buddhas like Mount Meru, whose virtues are like the ocean, and I turn to the Victors as a Refuge, bowing my head before these Victors.
- Buddha is the sun, whose golden (body) she shines with the purest gold, whose eyes are crystal-clear beryl, (you) are the source of the splendor of glorious splendor, dispelling the black darkness with rays of mercy.
- Your limbs are pure, beautiful, and beautiful: the limbs of the Sun Buddha seem to be covered with pure gold.
Muni, (you), like the moonlight, bring relief to beings tormented by the flames of claws, as if burning in fire.
- Your body is decorated with 32 higher Signs and beautiful signs (of perfection).
With networks of resplendent rays of the virtues of splendor (You), like the sun, illuminate the darkness of the Three spheres.
- Pure, large, multicolored: beryl, red of dawn, like silver and crystal, with reddish limbs, decorated with rays of various kinds, You, Great Muni, are as beautiful as the sun.
- The myriad rays of the Sugata sun dry the ocean of the cruelest sufferings (beings) drowning in the river of death, sorrowfully bubbling with waves of old age – in the great river of the cycle – the stream of troubles.
- I worship the shining golden body of the Buddha, whose limbs resemble the finest gold, –
The one who is the source of wisdom is the best in all three areas.,
Who is beautiful, whose body is decorated with signs (of perfection).
- As the water of the ocean is immeasurable, as the dust motes of the earth are innumerable, as the rocks of Mount Meru are immense, as space is boundless.,
- Similarly, the virtues of the Buddha are unlimited: all beings are unable to comprehend them.
Even if they had measured and pondered them for many kalpas, they would not have been able to comprehend the limit of (His) virtues.
- Although, counting (a whole) kalpa, one can even know the number of body hairs and stones, (the volume of) mountains and oceans, but it is impossible to comprehend the virtues of the Buddha.
- So may all beings acquire the same virtues, splendor, glory, fame, and a body decorated with good signs and 80 beautiful signs!
- Thanks to these benefits of mine, may the worldly villains become Buddhas, preach the Dharma to help beings, and save the compassionate.,
- they defeat strong clawed Maras, spin the good wheel of Dharma, live an incomprehensible (multitude) of kalpas, satisfy beings with the elixir of immortality!
- As the past Buddhas perfected, so may they perfect the six supreme paramitas, destroy the kleshas, eliminate suffering, and calm passion, hatred, and delusion!
- May I always remember hundreds, billions of (past) lives, always remember the Munindras and hear Their great speech!
- Through these benevolences of mine, may I always find the friendship of the Buddhas, completely get rid of sins, and fulfill the virtues that are the sources of good!
- May all the sufferings of all beings cease in all the worlds of the universe!
May the defective senses and the crippled members of the creatures become complete now!
- May all the sick, weak, crippled and defenseless of the ten sides (of the world) be cured quickly, gain health, strength, (normal physical) abilities!
- May all the wretches and sufferers who are threatened to be killed by the king, robbers or enemies who suffer hundreds of different sufferings be saved from hundreds of those terrible troubles!
- Let those who suffer from beatings and fetters experience various misfortunes, are embarrassed by many thousands of flares, get into terrible troubles and grieve in different ways., –
- Let all be freed from bondage, let those who are beaten be saved from beatings, let those who are killed find life, and let all those who are in distress be delivered from trouble!
- Let the creatures, hungry and thirsty, find different dishes and drinks!
Let the blind see different shapes, and the deaf hear pleasant sounds!
- Let the naked find different clothes, and the poor – treasures!
May all beings prosper with abundance of grain and plenty of jewels!
- Let them not experience any painful sensations!
May all creatures be beautiful, beautiful in appearance, and lucky!
May they always (have) lots of happiness and other things!
- May they acquire the desired food and drinks, great wealth and merits, whatever they want!
Let them (hear) the sounds of timpani, drums and lutes, (see) springs, lakes, ponds and pools with
- with golden lotuses, they will find food, drink, clothing, wealth, pearls, precious stones, treasures, jewelry, gold, various jewels, beryl, whatever they want!
- Let no sorrowful sounds arise anywhere in the world, and let no creature see anything unpleasant!
May all (creatures) acquire a magnificent skin color and become lights for each other!
- Whatever benefits there are in the human world, let them be found with (just) the thought of them!
May the fruits of good deeds always become perfect as soon as you think about it!
- May incense, garlands, ointments, clothing, incense powder, and various flowers fall from the trees at (all) three times!
Let the creatures take them and rejoice!
- May all the innumerable Tathagatas, perfect bodhisattvas, sravakas, and spotlessly pure Teachings be revered in all ten directions!
- May the beings get rid of everything base and leave the eight unfree states!
May they find the most excellent “king” of a favorable position and always find the friendship of the Buddhas!
- May they always be born into a high family and may their treasuries be rich in goodness and grain!
May many kalpas (beings) be adorned with fame, fame, (beautiful) physiques and skin color!
- May all women constantly become courageous, brave, wise and enlightened men!
May they all practice in the name of Awakening – may they practice the six paramitas!
- Let them see in the ten directions (of the world), near the precious trees, the lords of the blissfully abiding Buddhas sitting on precious beryl thrones, and let them hear the Dharma they preach!
- May the sins that I committed earlier in the vanity of existence, sins fraught with undesirable fruits, be exhausted without a trace!
- May all beings in the fetters of the Cycle, tightly bound by the rope of the arcana of samsara, be freed from the fetters by the “hands” of wisdom and gain Freedom from suffering!
- I rejoice in all the various profound services that beings are doing on this Jambudvipa and in other areas of the world!
- Thanks to these good deeds of mine, created by my body, speech and mind, may I obtain the fruits of my aspirations and achieve an impeccable higher Awakening!
- Thanks to this saying, with a steady, uncontaminated, pure mind, worship, praise, and full dedication (to merit), may sixty kalpas not have a bad fate!
- By reciting these verses, may the women and men of the brahmin and kshatriya castes, who join their palms and praise the Victors, remember (past) births in all their lives!
- May the sovereign kings constantly make offerings to those who possess all kinds of merits and virtues, whose sensory organs are endowed with all abilities, and may they acquire the same (virtues)!
- Those in whose ears this confession sounds have performed virtues not under one Buddha, not under two, not under four, not under five, not under ten, and (even) not under a thousand, (but under a much larger number) The Buddhas created virtues.
comment:
How to read it?
When it’s convenient for you, but preferably in the morning and always out loud, so that reading can cleanse your subtle body and your home.
The history of the sutra is such that in India there were people who achieved enlightenment only by reading this sutra. They walked the streets, beat drums, and recited this sutra.
The drum beat was like a symbol of the rhythm of the universe, a symbol of Emptiness (emptiness as a quality of phenomena).
The sutra is not very well translated, but it is valid because it has been read a lot.
As for the Buddha, this does not mean a specific person (although there were several Buddhas), but one who woke up from a dream, from illusions, from delusions, etc. The Tathagatas are the same. The 10 evil deeds are the commandments that I described in the book, and the good ones are their alternative, good deeds, according to the principle : Not to kill, but to love living beings, not to steal, but to give, etc.
When you offer flowers, phenomena, etc. to living beings. This helps you accumulate Merit on the astral level. Over time, they will transform into a material level and a person will begin to receive benefits. But it must be borne in mind that it will be possible to be cleansed in the form of minor troubles or obstacles. It all depends on our accumulated bad karma. When the logs are dry, the fire will surely light up. That is, having cleansed ourselves, we will allow all the good things to come into our lives.
