Why should a yogi eat healthy food?

Why should a yogi eat healthy food?

Many times in class, I have raised the topic of purification, and purification is not for that. to look young and healthy, and to get rid of karmic traces in our body and energy.

On this occasion, I would also like to see excerpts from Vyacheslav Smirnov’s article.:

“THE BASE. Fundamentals of a healthy nutrition system

By the time a person has matured the motivation to start practicing yoga, qigong, or something similar, they are usually already half dead in a sense. The body is under the influence of accumulated slag ballast (pasta with fried sausage has been familiar to many since childhood, right? :)), under the influence of diseases and the ecology of the surrounding world, it has managed to accumulate quite a lot of “breaks” in the structure of cells, organs and tissues. Here you can also add the “starting”, the initial level of energy and its quality, with which a person came into this world. For most of us, our parents knew almost as much about the basic principles of a healthy lifestyle as anyone else–that is, they lived and conceived children as they had to. Accordingly, the condition of most of us already at the time of birth left much to be desired.

When a person in this state SIMPLY begins to practice, the whole effect of the practice is simply to compensate for the developing disorders in the body. It turns out that there is no accumulation of development potential, but there is no such rapid destruction, which is also not bad in itself.…

However, this situation is fraught with serious complications. Imagine: a person lived for himself, ate like everyone else – with little-useful incompatible foods, the body slowly became overgrown with internal dirt… It accumulated in cells, in intercellular spaces, in blood vessels and ducts, in the intestine, and God knows where else.… And so he begins to study: the internal organs and the same intestine begin to warm up and work out, the blood flow normalizes and increases… As a result of these changes, a huge amount of caked garbage gets into the bloodstream over the years. All internal organs and, above all, the brain are in a state of severe auto-intoxication. How do we feel when we breathe very heavy, stagnant air or eat old, spoiled food? What happens in these moments in the body is much more serious.

Under the influence of intoxication, perception begins to shift, a person can feel things that were not available to him before. However, this effect can be achieved in a much simpler and more accessible way: for example, pour glue into a bag and breathe it a little. This has nothing to do with a real change in the brain’s mode of operation. The “thin” garbage, falling into the upper centers, seriously and permanently distorts their activities. Another side effect is a persistent exacerbation of pre–existing chronic diseases and a change in the nature of their course, sudden or aggravated depressive states, or simply emotional instability. Once again, this has nothing to do with the actual transformation processes.

And this situation is prone to gradual and constant development, because, in fact, as a rule, nothing changes: a person either eats the same as before, or switches to other dietary regimes that are described in classical texts and are completely unsuitable for our conditions … In a dirty body, against the background of malnutrition, consciousness is fundamentally incapable of functioning effectively. Wrong foods, foods in the wrong combination, not only clutter up the body with excess ballast, but also gradually make consciousness an increasingly inert and inefficient structure. By old age, most people’s thinking is limited to calculating their pulse, blood pressure, the number of medications taken and trips to the bathroom per week, and a small set of operations.

In fact, almost the only and most affordable way to radically change this situation is to change the regime and nature of nutrition. We cannot significantly change the quality of the air we breathe, but it is absolutely possible to change what our body is built from over time – the nature of nutrition. It is generally believed that in 7 years the molecular structure of the body is completely replaced: old compounds leave, they are replaced by new ones. Therefore, with proper nutrition, it is absolutely possible to completely change the qualitative composition of your body.
Proper nutrition

Everything I’m going to describe now was found on my own, simply based on a sense of what the body really needs, when, with what, and in what quantities. This diet almost completely coincides with the Macrobiotics of J. Ozawa, therefore, for more detailed recommendations, it is worth referring to his books and those of Sergei Sobolenko (first of all, “The Recipe for Madness”). Most of the issues that will be discussed later are covered in sufficient detail in these books, so now we will outline the most important things in fairly general terms.

In short, the power supply system can be described as follows…

Like everything else in this world, food is divided into yin foods and yang foods.

The beginning of Yin can be described as a heavy, calm, extremely inert, expansion-prone state. The beginning of Yang is dynamic, bright, and active. Most of the diseases of our time are Yin diseases, accompanied by the expansion of organs, a decrease in their function, and a decrease in the number of adequately functioning cells. In its extreme state, these are primarily oncological diseases and some mental illnesses. And it is these diseases that are now steadily growing and multiplying.…

A person in a state of predominance of the Yin principle is more inert, prone to weakness, more sickly, drowsy, with periodic depressive states, the acid-base balance is shifted more towards acidification of the internal environment. Episodic deviations from the “conditional norm of health” – if you suffer from colds at least once a year, you also belong to this group.

A person in a state of excess Yang: the acid-base balance is shifted towards alkalinization of the internal environment, prone to overexcitation, emotional instability with a shift to euphoria. However, most often these conditions are more secondary to the primary deep shift in Yin, just as acute profuse bleeding occurs for the first time in a cancer or tuberculosis patient, which in itself is characterized as a Yang state due to the strength and severity of the condition, but is a consequence of a prolonged deep Yin state.

The optimal combination of products will be a more or less balanced amount of Yin and Yang products. But to achieve this balance, it is necessary to stagnate for a long time, that is, in fact, just to cleanse your body and shift the internal balance towards the predominance of the beginning of Yang. An organism in a state of complete balance of Yin and Yang forces is absolutely invulnerable to aggressive environmental influences: microbial, parasitic and many others. The mechanical strength and elasticity of body tissues sometimes reaches fantastic limits.

Given that the body is mainly affected by yin environmental factors in our conditions, there should be a shift towards Yang products in the diet.

Yang products include primarily: cereals (rice, buckwheat, millet and wheat), sea salt, green tea, herbs (dill, parsley), onions, carrots, cheese, apples, sea fish and all seafood in general. Yin products are, respectively, everything else. There are foods that are very Yang and very Yin. The full list can be found in the books already mentioned, so all this is only briefly discussed now.

In my opinion, the nutrition system described by Sergey Sobolenko is most suitable for our conditions. The basis of the diet should be cereals, to a lesser extent vegetables. 1-2 times a week you can eat fish, per week you can eat no more than 4 eggs. Legumes – no more than once a week. Fish, eggs, and legumes are consumed either by themselves or with vegetables, and in no case in combination with other products, such as cereals. Eat as much greenery as possible. Nuts, honey, berries, apples and dried fruits are very special foods that should be eaten separately from everything else, as an independent meal. Fermented dairy products can also be consumed as an independent meal. When incompatible foods are combined, putrefaction processes begin in the body, and it will be difficult to talk about any kind of balance.

It is absolutely necessary to exclude from the diet all products that contain yeast, sugar, vinegar and all artificial ingredients – preservatives, flavors, baking powder, etc. Consume as little as possible, ideally also completely exclude milk, potatoes, tomatoes and eggplants.

Sergey Sobolenko gives a recipe for “Dragon Tea”, an absolutely wonderful collection of herbs. It cleanses and tones the body very effectively, and restores optimal internal balance by neutralizing excess Yin. It includes chamomile, wormwood, sage and thyme. Pharmacy herbs are absolutely unsuitable. Herbs are collected taking into account a large number of nuances, but one of the main rules should be to collect them on a full moon, give or take one week.

In order to prepare the most “harsh” version of this collection, you need to take a tablespoon of each of the herbs and pour a liter of boiling water. Let it stand for about 40 minutes, until the grass settles almost completely. Starting from this time, it can be drunk. It is consumed 150-200 ml. 3 times a day for 40 minutes before meals.

However, this option will not be acceptable for everyone. For women, it would be more optimal to put another spoonful of chamomile instead of a spoonful of wormwood, thyme for men.

You can drink tea for 4 days with a break for 4 days, or a week after a week.

By eating in this mode, you can gradually create an optimal state of the internal environment of the body, restore and make the optimal mode of operation of internal organs and perception.

George Ozawa, in his book “Macrobiotics of Zen,” provides a summary table of possible diets that have been used in Japanese and some other traditions since ancient times. Diet No. 7 is the most optimal and at the same time tough – it contains 100% cereals. The only drinks are green tea. This is the maximum and purest Yang, the maximum cleansing effect for the body and perception. Diet No. 6 already contains 5% of vegetables. Diet No. 5 – 10%. Etc. Already closer to the “zero” level, animal protein products, sweets and fruits appear at “negative” levels.

It may not be worth copying this approach completely, but it’s worth taking note of exactly. In any life crisis situations with health or when we get into a band of uncontrollable events, it will definitely be very useful to restore order in our body and mind in all available ways. And proper nutrition is of key importance here.

However, if there are health problems and, moreover, long-standing ones, proper nutrition alone may not be enough. Proper cleaning measures are needed to speed up this process.”
