Sprouts are the oldest health remedy known for more than 5,000 years. This healing food has an amazing ability to rid us of many ailments at the same time, preventing their return. True health is what this gift of Nature gives us.
Quite a large part of our diet consists of seeds – these are cereals, legumes and others. The seeds consist of semi-finished products and preserved building materials. These are mainly starch, proteins and fats. When the seeds germinate, drastic changes occur in them: starch turns into malt sugar, proteins into amino acids, and fats into fatty acids. The same thing happens when food is digested in the body. It turns out that most of the work in the germinated seeds has already been completed. Moreover, vitamins and other useful elements are synthesized, energy is accumulated, and all forces are mobilized to throw all this energy at the development of the plant. The preserved and dormant forces of the seeds come to life and release a tremendous potential for the birth of a new life.
The exceptional value of sprouted seeds lies in the fact that sprouts are the only “living” food. Their inclusion in the diet is an opportunity for a person to use an integral living organism for food, possessing all natural biological properties and being in a phase of maximum vital activity. In natural conditions, germinating seeds exert all their strength during the first few days to win the fight against millions of microbes, form a root as quickly as possible, gain a foothold in the soil and bring their first leaves to the sun. It is during this short period that a person should use them in order to gain strength and health from such an extraordinary product.
Sprouted seeds carry a huge energy potential. By adding them to food, we get a powerful boost of energy. The enzymes contained in the seedlings break down the spare proteins, fats and carbohydrates of these seeds, making it easier for us to digest them, and continue to work in the human body, saving its internal forces. The amount of antioxidant vitamins and trace elements increases during germination by tens and hundreds of times, they are embedded in the organic system of the living tissue of the plant and work together, supporting and enhancing each other’s effects. Their assimilation does not negatively affect human health, which can be observed with the use of certain pharmaceutical preparations.
Regular consumption of sprouts stimulates metabolism and hematopoiesis, increases immunity, compensates for vitamin and mineral deficiencies, normalizes acid-base balance, helps cleanse the body of toxins and effective digestion, increases potency, slows down the aging process. They are especially useful for children and the elderly, pregnant women and nursing mothers, people with intensive mental and physical labor.
SPROUTED SEEDS FOR SALADS
You can do it yourself.
Just put a small amount of Chia seeds in water, drain the water and leave it in the jar for a few days.
Every 12 hours or so, rinse with water and then drain.
After a day or two, you will have small Chia sprouts, which leads to another use of Chia seeds.
What can sprouted grains do?
Sprouted grains are a powerful stimulant of the vital activity of the body and the healthiest food.
They:
They regulate and restore vital processes in the body at any age, enhance immunity, and promote immunity to colds.;
They provide a normal metabolism and proper functioning of the nervous system;
improve digestion, treat eczema, and stomach ulcers.;
improve performance and improve sexual function;
they restore visual acuity, coordination of movements, hair color and density, and strengthen teeth.;
rejuvenate the body due to the presence of antioxidants in the seedlings: vitamins A, C, E and enzymes;
the living energy of fresh seedlings stimulates the internal self-cleansing and self-healing abilities of the body, promotes the formation of hemoglobin; cleanses the blood;
Sprouted grains are a preventive means of preventing cancer;
The large amount of magnesium in sprouted grains helps to reduce blood pressure, eliminate cholesterol from the body, and reduce the likelihood of heart attacks.;
Sprouted seeds, grains and beans are easily digested, contain much more vitamins than other foods, as well as an optimal combination of proteins, carbohydrates and minerals.
The properties of the miracle product, which will be discussed in this article, can be expressed in one short but very succinct phrase, borrowed from the classic, but slightly redrawn in the way we need.:
“Different sprouts are important, different sprouts are needed!”
And this is undoubtedly true, but there are a lot of useful cereals, nuts and seeds.
- How to understand this variety of healthy foods? What are the benefits of sprouts?
- Which seedlings should I prefer and why?
- How should sprouts be eaten?
- What delicious and healthy dishes can be prepared from sprouts?
You will get answers to these and other questions by reading this article. So, first things first!
Sprouted chickpeas, as practice shows, some types of seedlings are more popular among people who lead a healthy lifestyle, while others are undeservedly forgotten for some reason.…
Based on my own experience, based on the information of the mass of literature I have studied on this subject, believing the practical experience of other people, I have compiled a more or less objective rating of the popularity of seedlings!
So, here’s a list of the most nutritious and healthy sprouts.
5th place. Almond sprouts
Almonds In the fifth most popular place is a delicious and healthy nut called almonds, which is loved by many.
If you soak raw almonds overnight in clean water, and drain the water the next morning, then after 12 hours you will see how the first shoots will come out of the oval kernels of the nut. Truly, you need to have tremendous willpower to still germinate an almond and not eat it before the seedlings appear!
Almonds contain vitamin E, B vitamins, fatty acids, potassium, copper, iron, phosphorus. It is an excellent vegetable source of easily digestible protein.
Needless to say, when sprouting almonds, all their beneficial properties are greatly enhanced?! Moreover, almond sprouts have enveloping, analgesic and cleansing properties.
Almond sprouts are not only healthy, but also very tasty. They can be used to make almond milk that tastes great.
How to germinate correctly? To do this, soak the raw almonds in clean water, wait until the sprouts appear, peel the kernels from the brown skin (optional at this stage!), put the nuts in a blender, pour a small amount of water and grind them thoroughly.
Then the resulting cake should be properly squeezed into the resulting white liquid – this is almond milk, the density and saturation of which you control with the amount of water. The remaining almond cake can be used in cooking, for example, for making raw food cakes or in traditional baking.
4th place. Masha’s seedlings
I gave the last position of our useful vegetable chart to an amazing legume plant, masha, also known as mung beans or golden beans. This product is very popular in Central Asian countries.
The germination of masha occurs in the same way as the germination of almonds. And they germinate much faster. For raw foodists, mash is good because it perfectly replaces canned green peas, which are loved by many, when cooking. Mash has an equally fresh and pleasant taste, it also crunches and bursts when chewing.
But in terms of their beneficial properties, masha seedlings, of course, surpass their canned counterpart. All useful elements are preserved and multiplied in the seedlings. Mung beans contain vitamin PP, calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus, and potassium. Mash is considered a low-calorie product, and therefore it is good in various fat-burning diets. It also regulates blood sugar levels and is an excellent antioxidant.
Masha sprouts can be chewed just like that – mono, or you can cook a wonderful raw pea soup with them.
Grind a handful of mung bean sprouts and ripe soft avocado in a blender until a thick, homogeneous puree-like mass is obtained. Pour it into a plate, garnish with whole sprouts of masha and finely chopped green onions. If desired, you can add your favorite spices and herbs to the soup.
3rd place. Buckwheat sprouts
13_the third place in the popularity rating of sprouts is green buckwheat, so beloved by many raw foodists. If you do not like buckwheat porridge, then do not rush to draw conclusions about the sprouts of green buckwheat – these two dishes have little in common!
Buckwheat sprouts, not only appear very quickly, about 12 hours after soaking, but also have a delicate nutty-buckwheat flavor and a pleasant crunch. That’s why buckwheat sprouts are the most delicious to eat right like that, if desired, flavoring them with your favorite vegetable unrefined oil!
By the way, in addition to the unique taste sensations, green buckwheat will bring tremendous benefits to your body, because it contains such important elements as: calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, zinc. Green buckwheat sprouts are also a good prevention of cancer, effectively cleanse the body of toxins, treat food allergies, strengthen the immune system, and help lower blood sugar levels.
2nd place. Peanut sprouts
13_AHIS The second line of the useful chart is occupied by peanuts. And here’s why: this is a unique legume plant (and not a nut at all, as many people think!) when soaked and germinated, it transforms beyond recognition. By the way, raw peanuts germinate quite quickly.
Hard to digest and causing gastrointestinal disorders in dry form, sprouted peanuts become an easily digestible and nutritious product. Moreover, the swollen peanut kernels increase in size, and after being soaked with water, they become pleasantly sweet in taste.
It was thanks to this miraculous transformation that peanuts were placed on the second line of the rating of unique seedlings. Peanuts are, first of all, high–quality vegetable protein, B vitamins and vitamin E. Peanut grains also contain phosphorus, iron, and calcium.
You can make the world-famous peanut butter from peanut sprouts. Simply carefully chop a handful of sprouted peanuts in a blender with a little water, and then add a sweetener to your liking, such as honey or stevia syrup.
1st place. Wheat sprouts
Wheat sprouts and, finally, the leader of our hit parade today, the star of wheat sprouts! Yes, sprouted wheat is the most popular dish among raw foodists, and not only among them. Many people, how to properly germinate wheat for food, use wheat sprouts as a source of vitamins and nutrients and note significant improvements in the body – the condition of the skin, hair, nails, and general well-being are qualitatively changing.
Wheat sprouts are best consumed separately, mono, and after them you should not eat or drink for an hour – this way you maximize their beneficial properties and trigger cleansing mechanisms. Moreover, wheat, like all sprouts, must be thoroughly chewed until a liquid slurry forms in the mouth. By the way, it is also very useful for teeth!
Sprouted grains contain many times more vitamins than plants grown from them, so the body will receive from the seedlings all the vitamins necessary for humans, without which existence is impossible.
Vitamin E contained in sprouts is the vitamin of life, an antioxidant that slows down the aging process, reduces the risk of cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and muscular dystrophy. The antioxidant also helps the body to reduce the level of tissue defects, speed up the healing process, and counteract infections.
B vitamins, which are fully contained in cereal seedlings, also play an important role. For example, vitamin B6 promotes the proper synthesis of nucleic acids that prevent aging. The lack of vitamin B3 predisposes the craving for alcoholism. We can conclude that without B vitamins, we begin to get irritated, lose our attractiveness, and our tendency to bad habits increases.
Sprouts also contain vitamins F and P, which have a good effect on the condition and pigmentation of skin, hair and nails, not to mention such important but more common vitamins as A, C, D and others.
Recent modern research by scientists has shown that sprouted legumes and beans are not inferior in protein to meat. Sprouts also contain amino acids that improve the condition of the skin, hair and prevent the appearance of gray hair.
Trace elements contained in seedlings: zinc, iron, copper, manganese, nickel, chromium, vanadium, molybdenum, beryllium, titanium, silver, cerium, cobalt, boron, selenium, etc. All of them regulate the metabolism and development of the body.
The pectin substances present in seedlings normalize the amount of cholesterol in the body, protect us from increased radiation, increase resistance to allergic reactions, have a beneficial effect on the mucous membrane of the respiratory and digestive tracts, and perfectly restore the body’s microflora.
Fiber, water, and oxygen are also essential components of sprouted grains. Fiber affects the digestive process in a positive way, makes peristalsis work more intensively, increases the speed of passage of food through the gastrointestinal tract, promotes the elimination of fats, toxins and mucus from the stomach and intestines, cleanses the colon of old toxins, increasing the absorption of nutrients, and therefore, Fiber cleanses the body of toxins and toxins not only the gastrointestinal tract, but also the lymphatic system. Recent studies have identified the role of water contained in seedlings. The water absorbed by sprouted grains naturally cleanses and heals our body.
The water contained in the seedlings is easily absorbed and replenishes the body’s water reserves, saving energy normally spent on processing water coming from outside. At the same time as structured water, the body receives oxygen dissolved in it: cellular respiration increases, and under-oxidized metabolic products and toxins are eliminated.
Less protein in raw food reduces putrefaction processes, and there are fewer putrefaction bacteria (these bacteria gradually poison our body).
Sprouts are sprouted grains, and green grass from the same sprouted grains are sprouts.
